OurLocate brings information to you, at right time daily so that you can decide on your route. We collect information from different sources including from people who already travel on that route(crowd sourcing). We send you information through right modes so that it makes up to you. OurLocate provide smart decisions rather than just traffic information. It integrates crowd sourcing and social networking for effective dissipation of data

How do I subscribe and unsubscribe it?

You can go to subscribe link on main page and register your details and alerts timings. You will receive an email asking you to confirm your details and once its activated you will receive alerts on regular basis. You can unsubscribe from the same page.

Is my email and number safe?

YES. Neither your emails nor phone numbers will be given to any agency for any purpose. you can unsubscribe at any point of time

What are advantages of registering?

Once you register you can login and adjust your travel setting, route settings determine when you would like to receive alerts and how. You can also receive multiple alerts which cannot be done by subscribing.

How can I send alerts to my friends from your website

You can go to traffic link in header. Choose or submit the alert you would like to inform your friend. Once you click on the link, it should give you a pop up giving you option for tweet and email.

Contest FAQ

How do I register to contest?
Just log on to our site, and register yourself. Choose a display name in “My Profiles” and register for contest in “My Contests ” . In OurLocate Iphone App,Go to settings screen type in your display name and you can start posting your updates. DON’T forget to connect your twitter account to iphone application without which your post is not valid.

Traffic alert ? How do you define them and what is counted towards contest
Traffic alert is information submitted through OurLocate iphone application indicating traffic situation about an area. Multiple posts on same area at same time won’t be counted towards contest.

How do you determine points?
We have a very simple point system
A. 10 points for posting traffic conditions
B. 15 points for posting traffic condition with comment
C. 100 points when someone refers you when they join contest. They receive additional 25 points too

How are prizes taken and distributed?
We announce bi-weekly and monthly prizes. You will receive OurLocate merchandise like t-shirts as bi weekly prizes (5-10 people ) and every month we award 100$and $50 iTunes gift certificate for top two people.

What is the minimum criterion for being eligible for contest?
You need to contribute least once a day for being considered for contest. If you registered in between a month it does not matter, you still are eligible if you post one per day.

Is there any limit to number of updates I submit
NO. Ideally there should be a minimum gap of 15 minutes when you submit a traffic post indicating the traffic situation.

OK! How do i use your Iphone application ?

To make it easy we put the whole procedure in to steps from 1-7 . Go through them

The main screen, check the condition you want to report Once the application is selected from the main screen by clicking OurLocate icon.	Second screen ..choose you option and also the location you want to report. The application determines your current location which would be used to check traffic on route. Report the traffic condition by choosing one and choose report or share. Share allows you directly to send data to your friends directly by email.
This screen is obtained once you select "different location"	Incident Screen Google maps displaying incidents Once you choose the location you can drag the pin and move around to determine the right location.
Incidents shown in list form You can toggle the screen to see the list of incidents.	Setting screen Most important feature of the app is the twitter integration and PUSH notifications. You can add you twitter account and custmize your timings for push notifcation by going to settings page
Twitter account ...setting up your account You can customize your location, location timings, radius. You will receive two alerts at set timings detailing about number of traffic alerts.
